Students who studied continuously from Class 6 to Class 12 in Tamil Nadu Government Schools are eligible for a dedicated 7.5% preferential horizontal reservation across all engineering colleges, including CEG, MIT, PSG Tech, and CIT. 100% of educational expenses including tuition fees, hostel rent, mess bills, and transport costs are fully covered by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
The formula is: Cutoff (200) = Mathematics (100) + [Physics (100) / 2] + [Chemistry (100) / 2]. For example, if a student scores 95 in Maths, 90 in Physics, and 88 in Chemistry, their TNEA cutoff is 95 + 45 + 44 = 184.00.
Autonomous colleges design their own modern curricula in consultation with industry leaders, update syllabi annually to include trending technologies (AI, Robotics, Cloud, Cyber Security), conduct semester exams on campus with swift result publications, while the final degree is awarded by Anna University.
Other state candidates can apply under Open Competition (OC) for government quota seats or seek direct admission through the Management Quota across private and autonomous engineering colleges.
